Provisional Answer Key Published by PSC

We find that there are some errors in the Provisional Answer Keys.

We discuss those here

q1.png

Provisional Answer: C

Since OR is defined as !! (double exclamation), this program when compiled gives error .

Hence answer should be (A)

Otherwise if its || also, the answer printed will be “alphabet” , NOT “Alphabet”

q2

Provisional Answer: B

In line number 3 and 4, the declarations are terminated by : (instead of ; )

This give raise to compilation error. In C program all executable statements should be terminated with a semicolon (;)

Hence answer should be (D)

q3

Provisional Answer : C

Inside main function and Funct1 the variable K is not declared.  Since C is case sensitive, this program will give Compilation error Hence there is no correct answer in the options

q4

Provisional Answer: C

There is unmatched curly brace (}) at the end of the program. It also gives a compilation error. Hence there is no correct answer among the options given

q8.png

Provisonal Answer : D

There are following errors in the code given

Line number 3 and 4 : string  is wrong (String is the name of the class. “not string” ) . Java is case sensitive

Line number 5: object Sb is undeclared (declared one is sb)

Line number 6: c is undeclared

Hence the above program result in compilation error. Hence there is no correct answer among the options given.

q9

Provisional Answer: D

There is no such interface in Java named as Thread handling interface

Creating a Thread

In the most general sense, you create a thread by instantiating an object of type Thread.
Java defines two ways in which this can be accomplished:

• You can implement the Runnable interface.

• You can extend the Thread class, itself.

Reference: Java : The Complete Reference – Chapter 11 Multithreaded Programming

So Answer Should be A

q53.png

Provisional Answer: C

AB+B((B+C’)+B’C) = AB+(BB+BC’+BB’C) = AB + B + BC’  = B(1+A)+ BC’ = B + BC’ = B(1+C’) = B

Hence simplified expression for given is B . The answer should be D.

B+C is not a simplification of this . It can be easily verifed using truth table suppose A, B, C are 0,0,1 then Value of given expression will be zero whereas option C will be evaluating to 1.  Option B may be an equivalent expression . But it is not simplified one.

q59.png

For a relation to be in Third Normal form for every non trivial functional dependency X –> Y , either X is a key or  Y is prime(that in turn means there should not be any functional dependency between non prime attributes). It is not given whether such dependency are present in this relation. So we cannot conclude 3NF. Hence Answer Should by B. – Second Normal Form
